Torre a Cona... suspended in time
La Fattoria Torre a Cona is set in the midst of rolling hills south-west of Florence among vineyards that have been famous for their top quality wines for centuries.
This is a place that offers far more than just a holiday farmhouse, far more than just a vacation in Tuscany, far more than simply a quiet interlude to take time out for oneself.
The Rossi Earls of Montelera, committed to the conservation and requalification of Torre a Cona, have taken this ancient vocation to themselves and broadened and developed its features. The property extends for approximately 200 hectares, 14 of which are destined to vineyards and 40 to olive trees. The vineyards, all recently reimplanted, and the improvements made in the historical cellars have led to the development of excellent wines which are the expression of the territory and the tradition, more and more recognized today by experts and common enthusiasts alike.
Immersed in the valley of Rignano sull’Arno, with a history that dates back to Roman times, Torre a Cona is the ideal setting to savour every aspect of Tuscany in all its beauty : the rolling hills and breathtaking landscape; the art cities with their centuries of history.
Olive groves and vineyards stretch as far as the eye can see over soft rolling Tuscan hills, inviting guests to relax and enjoy the perfect peace and tranquillity.
The holiday apartments of the estate are furnished in traditional Tuscan style selected personally by the Contessa herself, to echo the refined elegance of the whole estate of the Conti Rossi di Montelera.
Self-catering apartments
It is possible to choose from any one of these six self-catering apartments which have all been totally renovated recently in traditional Tuscan country style, down to the finest detail. The tasteful furnishings and decor were personally selected by Contessa Rossi herself. Each holiday apartment can cater to at least two guests (Fonte Lecceta) and up to a maximum of sixteen (CASA VILLA).
The Villa is conveniently located close to some of Tuscany’s most renowned attractions in the surrounding art towns: Siena, Florence (only 15 km away), Lucca, Pisa; not to mention San Gimignano and Volterra.
Fattoria Torre a Cona was conceived as an ideal holiday location for any time of the year. During the hot summer months, the cooler, inviting climate of the Chianti hills will help you forget the oppressive heat of the city and the chaos of urban traffic, with a refreshing dip in the private pool at any moment, and a stroll through the estate to taste some of the local products, and will allow you to enjoy the beautiful natural surroundings, absorbing all it has to offer without disturbing the local flora and fauna.
The glorious autumn colours and enchanting Tuscan landscape entice the visitor; close vicinity to towns like Rignano sull’Arno and Bagno a Ripoli are convenient for all practical needs (shops, banks, supermarkets, post office), so guests are never isolated. This gives visitors the opportunity to spend a cosy holiday, not only during Christmas or Easter breaks, but also for romantic get-away weekends, for those essential moments alone together. Another attraction is the discovery of all the local festivities, each one celebrating traditional, mouth-watering Tuscan products to tempt the palate, and not simply the food and wine... hand-made traditional crafts of centuries past can still be found in local markets.
